Yearly Events
Sparsh every year in collaboration with its members plan events for community building and bonding. Celebrating Indian festivals, food and culture with its members and guests has been in its core values and that is what we reflect through these events.
Some of the marquee events hosted every year:

HOLI
Holi is a popular ancient Hindu festival, also known as the "festival of spring", the "festival of colors", and the "festival of love".
The festival signifies the triumph of good over evil. It originated and is predominantly celebrated in India, but has also spread to other regions of Asia and parts of the Western world through the diaspora from the Indian subcontinent.
Planning starts way early every year for Holi, and members of Sparsh meet in person to chalk out the logistics, budget and venue.
We have observed participation of more than 55 families every year for HOLI.
Home-made delicacies, color, Bollywood numbers, smiles and camera clicks makes this an event to remember every year for all our members.
For the last 5 consecutive years, Holi has been celebrated with full fervor in Charlotte by “Sparshians”.

Festival of India
The festival is organized by the India Association of Charlotte, a nonprofit cultural organization established to serve the growing Indian American Community in the Charlotte area.
For over twenty years, this event has drawn thousands of visitors from all around Charlotte and vicinity.
This is a great family event where students will find the event educational while adults will find it entertaining. This annual cultural festival showcases diversity of Indian dance, food, art, music and Bollywood entertainment.
Sparsh is one of the participating non-profit institutions in this Festival for the last 3 years.
Indian delicacies, specially from Bihar/Jharkhand are home made by members of Sparsh and are sold to visiting guests in the festival.
Sumptuous spread of Indian food is offered at the Sparsh food stall at an attractive price for thousands of guests those who participate or come to enjoy this Festival at Uptown Charlotte every year.
We take pride in selling more than 1000 “Littis” every year in this festival. “Litti” along with mashed potatoes is a delicacy from the state of Bihar in India.
Revenue earned through this festival for Sparsh is then used for future charity drives and donations in our local Charlotte area as well as back in India.
Via this event we reach out to the larger Indian diaspora here in Charlotte, NC as well as to local food enthusiasts.

Diwali
Diwali is a festival of lights and one of the major festivals celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs. The festival usually lasts five days and is celebrated during the Hindu lunisolar month Kartika (between mid-October and mid-November). One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance".
Sparsh celebrates Diwali with all glitters and sparkles. In collaboration with our members, Sparsh organizes the annual cultural events, Diwali fireworks, and fashion show during this event which makes the evening glitzy and classy.
